The stories behind
Every design has its own story, a story about ideas, exploring, decisions and adaptations. During Mind the Story, the lecture program that accompanies Mind the Step, the focus is on people involved in the design process. As user, client, organization and company. You will get to know their story and the various steps in the design process.
Designers and researchers whose story covers the cross-fertilization between technology, research and design and who like to share their thoughts with the audience are invited to present in the Mind the Story program, taking place in the Mind the Step exhibition in the same period as the exhibition.

Posing questions with design
12:30 - 17:30
Design can solve problems, but it is also very good at asking questions. The designs presented here pose specific questions about future everyday life: What if we wear our own weather? What if things design themselves? What if data takes up physical space? What would be your answer? You are invited to a lively, mind triggering experience.
Lenneke Kuijer (TU/e), Nicola Spurling (Lancaster University), Iva Rešetar (UdK Berlin), Karin Niemantsverdriet (TU/e), Iohanna Nicenboim (TU Delft), Daniel Suárez (UdK Berlin), Marie Heidingsfelder (Fraunhofer CeRRI), Marina Castan Cabrero (Royal College of Art)

Symposium on Sports & Vitality
Join the discussion around the role of design in sports, health and vitality. Can technological designs convince our society to move more, to bring together communities, clubs and organizations around sports and vitality? Together with designers, researchers and the DDW public we’ll engage in an open discussion to share insights and perspectives around this topic.
This afternoon, several prominent speakers tell about their vision on sports and vitality, such as prof. Suzuki from the University of Tsukuba (Japan) about FUTUREGYM, an interactive gymnasium installation for special needs school setting, prof. Brombacher from the TU/e about Human Vitality & Technology and many more.
Organized by Technical University of Eindhoven and University of Tsukuba.
