Decentralised generation and shared energy consumption is the future. So how is the mutual sharing organised? Is this based on rational, financial decisions? Or do social and cultural variables also play a role? This visualisation, based on long-term ethnographic data, shows the influence of social relationships and cultural values on the exchange of energy.
